₹15.33 crore approved for the Ichalkaranji judicial complex land transfer

The Maharashtra Department of Law and Judiciary issued administrative approval of ₹15,33,60,949 for the transfer of the plots the municipal corporation had reserved for a judicial complex, clearing the way for construction to be taken up.

The approval follows sustained follow-up with the state government by MLA Rahul Awade. A court complex inside the municipal limits would allow litigants from Ichalkaranji and the surrounding taluka to be heard locally rather than travelling to Kolhapur.

Chief Minister announces the Juné–Danwad Krishna river water supply scheme for Ichalkaranji

Speaking at a farmers’ rally on 21 June 2026, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a permanent water supply scheme for Ichalkaranji drawing from the Krishna river at Juné–Danwad. The scheme has been planned against the city’s projected requirement up to 2051.

MLA Rahul Awade, together with the Hatkanangle Member of Parliament, had placed the proposal before the state government in Mumbai, and had met the Chief Minister with municipal officials two days before the announcement. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde indicated that the state government would provide the finance the project requires.
