- A city of nearly three lakh people, with a dense industrial load, has long sought a permanent and adequate source of drinking water.
- Objective
- A supply scheme drawing from the Krishna river at Juné–Danwad, designed against the city’s projected requirement up to 2051.
- Where it stands
- Announced publicly by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at a farmers’ rally on 21 June 2026. Rahul Awade, with the Hatkanangle Member of Parliament, had placed the proposal before the state government in Mumbai and met the Chief Minister two days earlier; Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde indicated the state would provide the finance required.
